Get to know me.

Hello! My name is Tanja and I am the owner of Kompass Bookkeeping. Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, I finished Business School in Germany. I move to the US in 2001 and attended college in Connecticut. Numbers always seemed to be my strong suit. After having worked in the world of finance for many years in different capacities, I discovered what I truly enjoy most – working with small businesses.

Kompass Bookkeeping was born because it gives me the opportunity to do exactly that. Truly it was the clients that inspired me to open the business in 2023. After all – years and years after coaching, consulting, teaching, and also learning from clients it absolutely made sense to take the leap myself!

A couple years ago I became an Advanced ProAdvisor with QuickBooks. I greatly enjoy working with QuickBooks Online and all the possibilities, that come along with modern technology. I absolutely love integrations such as Stripe, Square or Shopify.
